Sitting at a desk all day can be painful, but when you have pain, chairs look like torture devices.  With a few things you have lying around the house you can make your seat more comfortable.  In this video I will show you how to add supports to your chair to best position yourself so you can sit longer and with less pain.

Weight should be forwards of the sitz bones, otherwise the pelvis just rolls backwards to allow us to slump. In order to help support this we can use the following:

  • Triangle folded towel for seat, helps to position the pelvis more forwards of the sit bones and get more weight into your feet
  • Pillows behind back so that 50% of thigh is on the chair. Allows you to reach our key boards, but still have a substantial base of support
  • Folded towels for pelvis pain or tailbone pain.  When having pressure against your perineum or coccyx hurts, you can build up the seat to help elevate yourself off those painful areas
