Initial attempts to insert a toy or your partner or even just touching around the opening can be accompanied by excruciating pain, like tearing, burning, stinging, and the feeling of all things sexy can quickly be off the table. This can be a reeeeeal mood changer, but in worse cases can become anticipated and habitual reflexive clenching (which can be a hard habit to break if it isn't addressed). The thing is, frequently this pain can be a result of muscles close to the opening to the vagina being too tight, short, or contracted.  Follow along with Dr. Lauren Collins to learn the techniques to give these muscles the stretch they need for more ahh and less ouch.
